FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions
With the wealth of information available searching online, it seems like it may be easy to look up the problem or error message you're getting and try to fix the problem yourself. And for a person who has advanced technology skills, this might be the case. However, for the average user, a lot of times you can do more damage to your system, not to mention create a larger expense, attempting self diagnostics. When unsure, it's always best to let a trained professional have a look.
Q: If I bring my computer or mobile device in for service, how long will it take?
Most computer problems and services will take up to two business days to fix. If parts are needed, the work can usually be completed within 2 business days of receiving the part. Once the problems are identified by our technicians, we can give you a better time estimate to complete the job.
Q: How much will it cost to fix my device?
Services vary in price, but most common computer fixes can be completed for $75-$99 as long as parts are not required.
Q: My computer is running very slowly. What could be causing this?
There are many possibilities as to why a computer is running slowly from simple things like lack of available disk space on your hard drive to more serious issues like data corruption or computer viruses. Plus over time, residual files from updates and software installs can build up, which will negatively effect computer performance. Taking advantage of ASAP Computers diagnostic services will pinpoint and allow us to fix these problems for you.
Q: When I turn on my computer, I have a blank screen. What is causing this problem?
You could have a corrupted operating system, bad hard drive, faulty video display or a number of other things. ASAP Computers will test your equipment and software to determine the root cause and offer solutions to get you back up and running in no time.
Q: Windows will not completely shut down when the device is powered off, why?
There could be programs still running that will not respond to the shut down commands from the operating system, file corruptions, or a virus infection. Bring your device into us to quickly identify and correct the problem.
Q: I have a problem with my computer, do I bring it in or can you come here to fix it?
Since a lot of the diagnostic equipment is here in the shop and many of the scans take several hours to run, it's less costly to bring your portable device to us when you can. Otherwise we do preform on-site services and will be happy to come to you.
